Former Afghanistan Fast Bowler Shapoor Zadran’s Body Returned to Kabul from India

Kabul:The body of former Afghanistan fast bowler **Shapoor Zadran** arrived in Kabul from India on Wednesday after his death following a prolonged illness.
According to the **Afghanistan Cricket Board**, Zadran had been receiving medical treatment in India before passing away on Tuesday at the age of 38 in a hospital in **New Delhi** after battling cancer.
A large number of family members, relatives, friends, government officials, and members of the Afghanistan national cricket team gathered at **Kabul International Airport** to receive his body. Current and former Afghan cricketers, including **Rashid Khan** and **Ibrahim Zadran**, were present to pay their final respects.
Emotional scenes unfolded at the airport as fellow players carried Zadran’s coffin with honor before it was taken for funeral arrangements.
Shapoor Zadran represented Afghanistan in **44 One-Day Internationals (ODIs)** and **36 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is)**. The left-arm fast bowler is best remembered for scoring the winning runs in Afghanistan’s historic first-ever **ICC Cricket World Cup** victory against Scotland in 2015.
Tributes continue to pour in from teammates, former cricketers, cricket officials, and fans, honoring Zadran’s contributions to Afghan cricket and remembering his legacy.
