No One Will Be Allowed to Exploit Khuzdar Incident for Political Gains: Sanaullah Zehri

QUETTA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) central leader and former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri has said that no one will be allowed to exploit the recent Khuzdar incident for political or personal gains, stressing that those involved would be brought to justice regardless of their influence.

Zehri made the remarks during a meeting with tribal and political leaders Sardar Muhammad Ali Jattak and Mir Muhammad Akbar Jattak at Jhalawan House. Provincial Adviser for Local Government and Rural Development Nawabzada Amir Hamza Khan Zehri was also present.

The meeting discussed the political and regional situation in Balochistan, particularly Jhalawan, as well as law and order and other matters of mutual interest.

Zehri said peace and stability in Jhalawan were extremely important and that every possible effort was being made to maintain peace in the region.

Expressing deep grief over the recent incident in Khuzdar, he said there would be no compromise on the honour and dignity of the people living in Jhalawan and across Balochistan.

“Those involved in the incident, no matter how influential they may be, will be brought before the law,” Zehri said.

He added that all communities living in Jhalawan were his own and equally dear to him. He warned that no one would be permitted to engage in politics or seek personal gains in the name of sympathy over the Khuzdar incident.

Zehri stressed that no individual could be allowed to harm human life or dignity, adding that the law was equal for everyone and those responsible for the incident would soon face legal action.

He reiterated that he would play every possible role in ensuring peace, stability and protection of the lives and property of people in Jhalawan and across Balochistan.

Separately, Zehri also met a delegation of opposition members of the National and Balochistan assemblies led by Balochistan Assembly Opposition Leader Mir Younis Aziz Zehri.

The delegation included Asghar Ali Tareen, Mir Zabad Reki, Dr Nawaz Kabzai and Member of the National Assembly Mir Usman Badini. Nawabzada Amir Hamza Khan Zehri was also present.

The meeting discussed the overall political and regional situation in Balochistan and other matters of mutual interest. The participants agreed to maintain political contacts and continue the process of consultation on important issues.
