Despite Political Differences, No One Should Be Denied the Right to Like or Admire Someone: Mansoor Ali Khan
LAHORE: Anchorperson Mansoor Ali Khan has raised several questions regarding the government’s political narrative about former prime minister Imran Khan, Maryam Nawaz’s response to international interviews, and the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe the PIMS incident.
Speaking on his podcast, Mansoor Ali Khan said he had significant differences with Imran Khan but believed that everyone should have the freedom to like or admire whoever they wanted.
“I have major differences with Imran Khan, but I would never want to take away anyone’s right to like someone. If I disagree with someone and you like or admire that person, I would never tell you that you are wrong for doing so,” he said.

Discussing an interview given by Imran Khan’s sons to journalist Michael Atherton, Mansoor questioned why Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had not given an interview to Atherton herself.
He asked why Maryam Nawaz could not sit down with Michael Atherton and present the government’s position. He added that if she was unwilling to do so, Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz could present their perspective instead.
Mansoor argued that since Adiala Jail falls under the Punjab government’s administrative jurisdiction, there should be no reason for the government to appear concerned about the narrative surrounding Imran Khan.
“If Imran Khan’s narrative is wrong, sit with Michael Atherton, counter it and tell the world your position,” he said.
Commenting on the JIT formed to investigate the PIMS incident, Mansoor referred to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal.
He questioned why Mustafa Kamal’s name was reportedly absent from the investigation process despite his position as health minister.
Mansoor sarcastically remarked that the absence of action against the minister appeared to suggest that Mustafa Kamal still had strong political backing, questioning whether Shehbaz Sharif had the political influence to demand his resignation.
