National Party Condemns Alleged Raids, Arrests and Violation of Privacy in Sariab and Kachi Baig

QUETTA: The National Party has strongly condemned what it described as alleged raids, arrests and damage to homes by security forces in Sariab and Kachi Baig, saying that repeated violations of the sanctity of homes and harassment of citizens are unacceptable.
In a statement, the National Party claimed that homes of party leaders were raided a day earlier and several workers were arrested. It further alleged that valuable belongings were taken from the houses and property was damaged during the raids.
The party said entering homes in such a manner and allegedly harassing women and children constituted a serious violation of human rights. It termed the reported actions undemocratic, unlawful and unacceptable and announced strong protest against them.
The National Party alleged that the government had failed to maintain law and order and was unnecessarily targeting and harassing residents of Sariab to conceal its shortcomings.
The party demanded that such alleged unlawful actions be stopped immediately, arrested individuals be released and the harassment of citizens be brought to an end.
It stressed that the fundamental human rights of citizens, the sanctity of homes and the dignity and honour of the people must be respected under all circumstances.
