28th Defence Review Meeting Held in Quetta to Assess Overall Situation in Balochistan

QUETTA: The two-day 28th Defence Review Meeting on the overall situation in Balochistan was held in Quetta, with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Commander Quetta Corps jointly chairing the session.

The meeting reviewed joint efforts by federal and provincial institutions and discussed further measures aimed at improving the situation in the province. Participants also reaffirmed their commitment to Balochistan’s prosperous future, timely completion of development projects and the welfare of the people.

During the meeting, an in-principle decision was taken to activate the Safe City Project in phases in Quetta, the provincial capital, as well as other important areas of the province.

Addressing the 28th Defence Review Meeting, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said the meeting was being held regularly and had produced positive results for peace and stability in Balochistan.

He said the purpose of holding the meeting every three weeks was to review implementation of decisions taken previously and ensure peace and stability across the province.

Representatives of federal and provincial institutions and departments, as well as security forces, attended the meeting.

The participants also paid tribute to the security forces for successful intelligence-based operations against terrorists of Fitna al-Hindustan during the current month.
