Pashtunkhwa MAP Condemns Recent Terror Incidents in Pishin, Ziarat, Sanjavi and Other Areas

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta): The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned recent incidents of violence and attacks in Saranan, Pishin, Ziarat, Sanjavi, Harnai and Quetta, alleging that some of the incidents involved what it described as “state-backed armed groups.”

In a statement issued by its provincial secretariat, the party criticized the provincial government over the deteriorating law and order situation and said the alleged activities of armed groups had created serious concerns about the writ of the state and the rule of law.

The party said the incidents had created fear among citizens, with residents increasingly feeling unsafe even inside their homes. It particularly condemned attacks on and the burning of police stations, saying security forces, including Levies and police personnel, as well as innocent civilians, were losing their lives in recurring incidents.

According to the statement, a wave of insecurity currently exists across southern Pashtunkhwa and other districts of Balochistan. PkMAP said the open display of weapons, attacks on government property and police stations, and attempts by armed groups to take the law into their own hands posed a serious threat to state authority and the rule of law.

The party alleged that the patronage of armed groups and elements involved in illegal activities was both regrettable and condemnable. It reiterated its longstanding demand that there should be no distinction between “good” and “bad” terrorists and called for indiscriminate action against all armed and lawless elements under the law.

PkMAP urged the authorities to immediately stop the open display of weapons and armed activities and strengthen security arrangements in sensitive areas so that citizens could carry out their daily activities without fear.

The party warned that attacks on police stations, growing lawlessness and increasing disorder could push society toward greater instability and potentially civil conflict. It said the government, administration and security institutions must take immediate practical measures to protect citizens, eliminate armed groups, restore the writ of the state and ensure the rule of law.

The statement stressed that protecting the lives, property, dignity and rights of citizens was a fundamental responsibility of the state. It called on the government to move beyond statements and assurances and demonstrate through practical measures that public safety and law and order would not be compromised.
