Trump Administration Subpoenas New York Times Journalists Over Air Force One Security Leak

The Trump administration has initiated legal action against several *New York Times* journalists following reports raising security concerns about the new Air Force One aircraft gifted to the United States by Qatar.
Four *New York Times* journalists have been issued subpoenas and ordered to testify before a grand jury as part of an investigation into the alleged leak of classified information.
The White House has assigned FBI Director Kash Patel to oversee the investigation. According to reports, Patel spent nearly eight hours at the White House coordinating the inquiry.
President Donald Trump used the new Air Force One to travel to the NATO summit in Türkiye but reportedly switched to the older presidential aircraft for his onward trip to the United Kingdom. According to the *New York Times*, the decision was made at the last minute based on a recommendation from the U.S. Secret Service, which raised concerns that the new aircraft lacked certain advanced security and counterterrorism technologies.
The U.S. Department of Justice said the investigation is focused on identifying those responsible for leaking classified information, not on prosecuting journalists.
