PTI Leader Alleges Imran Khan’s Name Plaque Removed from Mianwali Mother and Child Hospital

Mianwali: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and lawyer Barrister Abuzar Salman Niazi has alleged that a plaque bearing the name of former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been removed from the Mother and Child Hospital in Mianwali, criticizing the move as politically motivated.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Niazi claimed that the plaque, which had been installed at the main entrance of the 200-bed Mother and Child Hospital and Nursing College, was removed and placed in a storeroom.

According to Niazi, the hospital was completed during the PTI government at a cost of approximately Rs3 billion and was inaugurated by Imran Khan in December 2022. He said the facility was established to provide modern healthcare services to residents of Mianwali and the wider Sargodha Division.

The PTI leader further alleged that the current government has merged the hospital into the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, effectively ending its independent status, and is attempting to erase the identity of projects initiated during the previous administration.

Niazi described the reported removal of the plaque as “shameful,” arguing that public development projects belong to the people rather than any political party.

The claims made by Barrister Abuzar Salman Niazi have not been independently verified, and no official response from the Punjab government or the relevant health authorities was included at the time of reporting.
