Karachi West Administration Holds Meeting on Eid-ul-Adha Waste Disposal Arrangements

Karachi: A meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner West Office to review arrangements for the collection and disposal of animal waste during Eid-ul-Adha.

The meeting was organized on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner West Ali Zulfiqar Memon and chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahid Ali Bhatti. Chairman Manghopir Town Haji Nawaz Brohi, representatives from the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, zonal managers, assistant directors, and Water Board official XEN Mehdi also attended the session.

During the meeting, officials discussed operational planning for the Eid-ul-Adha sanitation drive, particularly the safe disposal of sacrificial animal waste. Authorities emphasized that offal and remains of sacrificial animals must only be buried at designated landfill sites and not at unauthorized locations.

Deputy Commissioner West Ali Zulfiqar Memon directed the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board to prepare a comprehensive plan involving additional vehicles and extra sanitation staff for the Eid operation. He stressed that routine garbage collection services should not be affected while managing Eid-related waste disposal.

Officials were also instructed to ensure organized planning and effective coordination in order to provide maximum relief to citizens during the Eid holidays. The administration said a detailed operational strategy would be finalized soon.
