Rain Forecast for Punjab, Balochistan and Kashmir as Heatwave Persists Across Pakistan

Lahore: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain in parts of Punjab, Balochistan, and Kashmir, while hot and dry weather is expected to continue across most parts of the country.
According to the PMD, strong winds and thunderstorms accompanied by rain are likely in several areas of southern and northeastern Punjab. Similar weather conditions are expected in northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly regions, offering some relief to residents affected by intense heat.
Despite the possibility of rainfall in some regions, high temperatures continue to grip much of the country. The highest temperature of the day was recorded in Sibi, where the mercury reached 47 degrees Celsius. Dadu and Dalbandin recorded temperatures of 45°C, while Bhakkar, Nokundi, and Okara reported highs of 44°C.
In the federal capital, Islamabad, the temperature reached 40°C. Lahore recorded 39°C, Peshawar 42°C, Quetta 38°C, and Karachi experienced temperatures of up to 45°C.
Meteorologists have warned that strong winds may occur in areas expected to receive rain and have advised residents to take necessary precautions. People living in hilly regions have been urged to stay informed about changing weather conditions.
The Meteorological Department said weather patterns may shift over the coming days, but severe heat is likely to persist in several parts of the country despite the expected rainfall.
