Abu Dhabi Court Fines Man for Public Insult, Orders Compensation to Victim

An Abu Dhabi court has issued its verdict in a case involving the public humiliation of an individual, imposing financial penalties on the defendant.
According to media reports, the court ordered the accused to pay a fine of AED 20,000 and compensation of AED 8,000 to the victim.
In its remarks, the court stated that the defendant had insulted the victim in a public place, causing harm to the individual’s dignity and damaging their reputation within society.
While delivering the judgment, the court emphasized that using abusive language or insults that undermine a person’s honor and social standing constitutes a criminal offense under the law.
The ruling underscores the UAE’s strict stance against verbal abuse and actions that negatively affect the dignity and reputation of others in public settings.
