Iran, Iraq and Syria Restrict Airspace as Israel Launches Retaliatory Strikes

Tensions in the Middle East escalated further after Iran, Iraq, and Syria imposed airspace restrictions following Israeli retaliatory strikes against targets inside Iran.
According to international media reports, Iran closed the airspace over its western region indefinitely amid growing security concerns. Iraq also temporarily shut its airspace as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, Syria announced the temporary closure of its southern airspace for 12 hours and suspended operations at Damascus International Airport.
In occupied Jerusalem, the U.S. Embassy reportedly instructed its staff and their family members to seek shelter in secure locations as regional tensions intensified.
The latest developments came despite an appeal by U.S. President Donald Trump for restraint. Trump had urged Israel not to retaliate following Iran’s recent missile attack.
According to Iranian media, explosions were heard in Tehran, Tabriz, and Isfahan, while additional reports indicated a blast near the city of Karaj.
The Israeli military said it had targeted military sites in western and central Iran, describing the operation as a response to Iranian attacks.
The exchange of strikes has raised concerns about a wider regional conflict, with governments across the Middle East closely monitoring the situation and implementing emergency security measures.
Authorities in the affected countries have not yet released comprehensive assessments of damage or casualties, and the situation remains fluid.
