Pakistani Pilgrims Complain of Poor Arrangements During Hajj, Lodge Grievances with Religious Minister

Islamabad (Special Correspondent) – Pakistani pilgrims performing Hajj 2026 have raised serious complaints over poor arrangements and mismanagement, presenting a long list of grievances to Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and announcing plans to pursue legal action.
The pilgrims said they paid between Rs1.2 million per person for Hajj but are facing inadequate facilities and mismanagement during their stay.
They complained that beds are not properly arranged, transport services are not arriving on time, and substandard food is being served, with some pilgrims reportedly receiving burnt meals. They added that there is no one to address their concerns, leaving them feeling helpless and neglected.
The pilgrims also questioned the efficiency of the administrative setup, expressing frustration over the lack of response to repeated complaints.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf assured the pilgrims that their complaints regarding poor arrangements would be addressed and said action would be taken against those responsible.
However, pilgrims questioned the timing of the minister’s response, asking what benefit action would bring now. In response, the minister stated that the issues were not previously brought to his attention.
Pilgrims further criticized the bureaucracy responsible for Hajj arrangements, expressing dissatisfaction and questioning whether they were in detention or on a religious pilgrimage.
