UAE Suspends Visa Issuance for 9 Countries; Pakistan Not on the List

Dubai – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has imposed a ban on issuing tourist and work visas to citizens of nine Asian and African countries, international media reported.

According to the circular issued by UAE immigration authorities, visa applications from citizens of Uganda, Sudan, Somalia, Cameroon, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, Lebanon, and Bangladesh have been suspended until further notice. The suspension applies not only to new visa requests but also to pending applications.

Notably, Pakistan is not included in the list, which comes as a relief for thousands of Pakistanis who frequently travel to the UAE for work and tourism.

While UAE authorities have not officially disclosed the reason for the decision, sources suggest that the ban may be linked to security concerns and ongoing diplomatic issues with some of the listed countries.

This is not the first time the UAE has introduced visa restrictions; similar measures have been taken in the past under specific circumstances.
