Hajj Rituals Begin as Millions of Pilgrims Arrive in Mina Amid Echoes of “Labbaik”

Makkah: Millions of pilgrims from around the world have begun the sacred rituals of Hajj by arriving in the tent city of Mina, where spiritual scenes and the chants of “Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik” are echoing throughout the holy site.
The flow of pilgrims into Mina is expected to continue throughout the day, while all worshippers will spend the night there before departing for Arafat on Tuesday, the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, to perform Wuquf-e-Arafat — the most important pillar of Hajj.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Meteorological Department has warned of an intense heatwave during the Hajj days in Makkah and surrounding areas, with temperatures likely to rise as high as 47 degrees Celsius.
Authorities also forecast humidity levels of around 40 percent along with dusty winds in some areas.
Saudi officials have advised pilgrims to avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight, drink plenty of water, and strictly follow safety guidelines to protect themselves from extreme heat conditions.
According to official figures, the number of international pilgrims arriving for Hajj has surpassed 1.5 million, with the majority reaching the Kingdom through air travel.
Special arrangements have been made at the holy sites to facilitate pilgrims, including additional shaded areas, cooling fans, and enhanced medical services to ensure maximum comfort and safety during the pilgrimage.
