Karachi: Drug Supply Network Exposed, 5 Arrested Including Women; Over 25kg High-Quality Hashish Recovered

KARACHI: Shah Latif Town Police have uncovered a major drug supply and distribution network in a targeted operation, arresting five suspects, including two women, and recovering over 25 kilograms of high-quality hashish worth millions of rupees.
According to police officials, the raid was conducted near Murghi Khana Bridge close to the Malir River following a tip-off. The suspects were allegedly involved in drug supply and street-level distribution.
The arrested individuals were identified as Shakir Naveed, Abdul Manan, Naveed Khaliq, along with two women, Fazila wife of Shakir Naveed, and Naheed wife of Naveed Khaliq.
SSP Malir Abdul Khaliq Pirzada stated that the suspects are closely related to each other. Among them, some are couples, while all are part of the same family-linked network. During the operation, police recovered 25,200 grams (over 25 kg) of high-quality hashish along with mobile phones. The estimated value of the seized narcotics is said to exceed Rs. 5 million.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the recovered drugs were intended to be supplied and sold in Karachi’s upscale areas. Police also revealed during interrogation that women were being used as part of the trafficking and distribution mechanism.
Authorities stated that the timely action by Shah Latif Police successfully foiled the operations of a significant drug network in the city. Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects, and further investigations are underway.
Police are also probing additional facilitators and members linked to the network.
