Heat Alert Issued in Karachi as Temperatures May Reach 49°C in Interior Sindh

KARACHI: Karachi is expected to experience hot and humid weather over the next three days, according to a heat alert issued by the Early Warning Center of the Meteorological Department.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department Early Warning Center stated that the maximum temperature in Karachi may remain between 34°C and 36°C. Humidity levels in the city are expected to rise between 55% and 65% during the afternoon hours, while light sea breezes along with occasional westerly winds may also prevail.
Officials further warned that most parts of the province will continue to experience hot, very hot, and dry weather conditions. A heatwave situation is expected to persist in central and upper districts of Sindh until May 11.
Under the heatwave effect, districts including Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur are likely to face extremely high daytime temperatures ranging between 47°C and 49°C.
Authorities have advised citizens, especially children, women, and the elderly, to take precautionary measures, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and increase water intake to prevent heat-related illnesses.
