UAE Not Targeting Pakistanis for Deportation, Says Interior Ministry

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior has rejected reports claiming that Pakistani nationals are being specifically targeted for deportation from the United Arab Emirates, calling such claims baseless and misleading.
In a statement issued on Friday, the ministry said that reports circulating in the media, particularly on social media, regarding the alleged targeted expulsion of Pakistanis from the UAE were “fabricated, malicious, and part of a propaganda campaign driven by vested interests.”
The ministry clarified that neither the UAE nor any other country was deporting individuals on the basis of nationality or sectarian affiliation. It stated that any deportation cases that do occur are handled under the host country’s routine legal procedures, including violations of immigration laws, expired visas, illegal documentation, or breaches of local regulations.
According to the statement, Pakistani citizens who fulfill visa and employment requirements continue to travel to the UAE and other friendly countries without discrimination and are still being granted work visas.
The ministry further emphasized that false news and misleading social media posts were being deliberately spread to serve hidden agendas.
It added that if any issue involving Pakistani citizens arises abroad, it is taken up with the concerned country by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a case-by-case basis.
