Sindh Cabinet Approves New Indus River Bridge, Major Karachi Infrastructure and Judicial Upgrades

In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in Karachi, the Sindh Cabinet approved several key development and infrastructure projects, including the design of a new bridge over the Indus River between Hyderabad and Kotri.

The Chief Minister said the new bridge would significantly facilitate traffic flow and improve connectivity for intercity transportation across Pakistan.

The cabinet also approved Rs 6.5 billion for the rehabilitation of Karachi’s road infrastructure. Murad Ali Shah directed that repair work should begin immediately and funds be released without delay.

In addition, Rs 2 billion were approved for Karachi’s S-3 water and sanitation project, aimed at improving urban utility services.

For judicial reforms, the cabinet allocated Rs 48.9 million for the digitization of the district court system, which the Chief Minister said would modernize judicial processes and enhance public service delivery.

Separately, Rs 432.597 million were approved for the construction of four new courts in Moro, while a grant of Rs 25 million was sanctioned for Pir Ilahi Bakhsh Law College in Dadu.

Officials said the initiatives reflect the provincial government’s focus on infrastructure development, governance reform, and improved public services.
