Bilawal Bhutto Warns India Over Indus Waters Treaty: “Will Snatch All Six Rivers if Needed

Karachi:Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (**PPP**), **Bilawal Bhutto Zardari**, issued a strong warning to India regarding the **Indus Waters Treaty**, stating that **Pakistan will force India to honor the agreement**, and if it refuses, “we will snatch all six rivers.”

Speaking at the **inauguration ceremony of the New Hub Canal water project**, Bilawal announced that the project, in collaboration with **KMC**, will enable Karachi to receive an additional **100 MGD (million gallons per day)** of water. He credited the efforts of the **Sindh Chief Minister** and **Karachi Mayor**, emphasizing that **more water will soon be supplied to Lyari** as well.

Bilawal highlighted the importance of cooperation between the **provincial government and local bodies**, stating that their joint efforts are yielding positive results for urban development.

Criticizing the federal government, Bilawal said, *”Karachi has received ‘Shehbaz Slow’ instead of ‘Shehbaz Speed’. It’s unacceptable that Punjab gets rapid development while Karachi is left behind.”*

He also praised the ongoing **development projects in Karachi and Hyderabad**, calling them **historic** and visible to all.

Commenting on the **Indus Waters Treaty**, Bilawal said that **India has suffered a diplomatic defeat** and is now resorting to **cowardly acts**, accusing New Delhi of conspiring against the Pakistani people by imitating tactics used by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

“India wants to break the Indus Waters Treaty, but our message to Modi is clear: **The people of Karachi know how to defend the Indus.** We will compel India to uphold the treaty — and if it doesn’t, **we’ll take all six rivers back**,” Bilawal declared passionately.
