Armed Men and Local Tribesmen Exchange Fire in Qila Abdullah, Militants Flee

QUETTA: An exchange of fire took place between armed men and local tribesmen in Balochistan’s Qila Abdullah district on Friday, with the militants eventually fleeing the area.

According to security forces officials, armed militants attempted to establish a blockade at Wali Zai Muhammad Zai Chowk in Gulistan Tehsil.

Local tribal residents reached the spot and tried to prevent the armed men from setting up the blockade, following which the militants opened fire.

An exchange of fire continued intermittently between the two sides before the militants eventually fled the area.

Local residents subsequently began pursuing the fleeing armed men. Further details regarding casualties or arrests were not immediately available.
