PKMAP Warns of Protest Over Load Shedding, Poor Development Work and Mobile Network Shutdowns

Ziarat / Sanjavi: The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has strongly criticized what it called the “paralysis of government institutions,” warning of a protest movement if public issues are not resolved immediately.
A meeting of the PKMAP district committee of Ziarat was held in Sanjavi under the chairmanship of provincial general secretary Kabir Afghan. The meeting reviewed organizational and political performance and discussed future strategy to strengthen party activities.
Senior leaders including Deputy Provincial Secretary Sardar Habib-ur-Rehman Domar, Labour Secretary Habib-ur-Rehman Bazei, Nizam Askari, and other district officials attended the meeting.
Participants strongly condemned unannounced and excessive load shedding in Ziarat city and surrounding areas, accusing the power authorities of being “anti-people.” They said that when citizens raise peaceful and democratic protests for their rights, instead of resolving issues, false FIRs are registered against them.
The leaders alleged that under what they referred to as the “Form 47 regime,” government departments have become dysfunctional. They claimed that education and health departments exist only in name, while district officials operate from Quetta, forcing citizens to travel long distances for basic services.
The meeting also criticized the poor quality and slow pace of construction work on the Quetta–Ziarat highway, alleging collusion between contractors and departments, resulting in substandard work that is causing serious difficulties for locals and tourists.
They further said that the so-called “master plan” for Ziarat city has turned the area into ruins due to the use of low-quality materials and extremely slow development progress, causing public distress and concerns over transparency.
Serious concern was also expressed over the prolonged suspension of mobile and internet services in Baghau, Tandwani, and Kharwari Baba, with leaders stating that depriving citizens of modern communication facilities is pushing them toward backwardness.
The party demanded immediate resolution of public issues, an end to unannounced load shedding, withdrawal of false cases, and transparency in development projects. It warned that if demands are not met, the party will be forced to launch a protest movement with public support.
