Major Terrorist Attack in Mastung: Police Station and Central Jail Seized, 27 Prisoners Escape, Multiple Government Properties Torched

Mastung city witnessed a major terrorist attack early in the morning as armed militants carried out a series of shootings and explosions across the city and surrounding areas. The attack caused panic among residents and led to clashes between the militants and security forces, leaving five people, including a police officer, injured. The injured were taken to Shaheed Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital and District Headquarters Hospital, where emergency services were immediately imposed.

The militants seized the **City Police Station** and **Central Jail Mastung**, freeing more than two dozen prisoners. They also set fire to multiple government properties, including the police station, central jail, Tehsil office, Habib Bank, and an Eagle Force motorcycle patrolling the city.

At the WAPDA office, three official K-Electric vehicles were torched, and a private vehicle belonging to SDO WAPDA was partially damaged. CCTV cameras installed in the city markets were destroyed by the militants. Around two kilometers from the city, near Nawab Hotel, the attackers blew up a police checkpoint using explosives, completely destroying the post.

According to sources, militants also seized government weapons, other military equipment, police vehicles, ambulances, and patrolling motorcycles. The armed group maintained control over the city for six to seven hours, creating widespread chaos and destruction.

This attack highlights a serious security lapse in Mastung and poses significant challenges for law enforcement agencies to restore order and prevent further terrorist activity.
