Road to Saif-ul-Malook Lake Reopens After Winter Closure, Tourist Season Set to Begin

Peshawar (Qudrat Daily): The route to the famous tourist destination Saif-ul-Malook Lake has been reopened after remaining closed for nearly six months due to heavy snowfall and glaciers during the winter season.
Located in the Kaghan Valley, the lake is one of Pakistan’s most popular tourist attractions, situated at an altitude of approximately 10,577 feet above sea level. It is known for its crystal-clear blue water and breathtaking mountain scenery.
According to officials, the Kaghan Development Authority has deployed heavy machinery to clear snow and ice from the 14-kilometre road from Naran to Saif-ul-Malook. So far, around 6 kilometres of the route have been restored, while the remaining stretch is expected to be opened in the coming days.
Work is also underway on the Babusar Top road to ensure smooth access to northern tourist destinations.
Authorities stated that the reopening of the lake route marks the beginning of the 2026 tourism season in northern Pakistan. The development is expected to boost local tourism and create job opportunities for hotel owners, jeep drivers, and other workers in Naran and Kaghan.
