Severe Heatwave Grips Lahore and Punjab as Temperatures Expected to Reach 41°C

Lahore: A severe heatwave has engulfed Lahore and other parts of Punjab amid continued dry weather, making daily life increasingly difficult for residents.
According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures are rising gradually due to persistent dry conditions, significantly affecting routine activities across the province. Intense sunlight and hot winds have forced citizens to limit outdoor movement.
The weather department forecast that Lahore is expected to record a minimum temperature of 27°C and a maximum of up to 41°C today.
During daytime hours, the harsh sunlight has intensified the heat, prompting people to seek shade and consume cold beverages to cope with the extreme conditions.
Reports also indicate that in some areas, road surfaces have started to soften due to extreme heat, raising concerns over possible disruption in traffic flow.
Experts say the ongoing dry spell and lack of rainfall are contributing to rising temperatures, with visible effects on urban infrastructure.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that hot and dry conditions will persist across Lahore and Punjab over the next 24 hours. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight and take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the heatwave.
