Deadly Accident on Swat Expressway: 16 Killed in Passenger Van and Bus Collision
Rawalpindi: A horrific road accident on the Swat Expressway has claimed the lives of 16 people and left 7 others injured after a passenger van collided with a bus near Ismaila, rescue officials confirmed.
According to Express News, the accident occurred when a passenger van crashed into a stationary bus on the Swat Expressway. Authorities reported that the bus was parked on the side of the road when the speeding van struck it from behind, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.
Initial findings by the Motorway Police suggest that the van driver may have been negligent, leading to the tragic incident. Rescue sources said all the bodies and injured victims were shifted to Mardan Medical Complex for treatment.
Officials further stated that the passenger bus was travelling from Karachi to Buner, while the van involved in the collision was reportedly en route from Rawalpindi to Dir.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
