UN High-Level Delegation Meets Balochistan CM, Praises Reforms and Human Rights Initiatives

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** A high-level delegation of the United Nations, led by **UN Resident Coordinator Muhammad Yahya**, called on **Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti** and discussed matters of mutual interest, including **human development, public welfare, human rights, Afghan refugees, climate change, and development cooperation** in the province.
During the meeting, the UN delegation **praised the Government of Balochistan for its key reform initiatives**, particularly the **legislation banning child marriage**, the **youth skills development program**, the **establishment of the Women Endowment Fund**, and other **reforms aimed at protecting human rights and promoting public welfare**. The delegation congratulated the provincial government on these achievements, terming them important steps toward inclusive and sustainable development.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister **Mir Sarfraz Bugti** said that **Balochistan faces serious challenges**, including **climate change and terrorism**, but the provincial government has adopted a **comprehensive and effective strategy** to address these issues. He noted that, as a result of these efforts, **the security situation in the province has improved**, while parallel measures are being taken to strengthen governance, social protection, and human development.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s **commitment to safeguarding human rights, empowering youth and women, and expanding development partnerships**, and emphasized the importance of **continued cooperation with the United Nations** to address humanitarian and developmental challenges in Balochistan.
