Mosquito Infestation After Rains Triggers Disease Outbreak in Bolan, Public Accuses Authorities of Negligence

Bolan (Daily Qudrat Quetta): A severe mosquito infestation following recent rains has led to the outbreak of various diseases in Kachhi Bolan district of Balochistan, creating what local residents describe as a worsening humanitarian crisis.
Standing water in streets, ponds, and low-lying areas has significantly increased mosquito breeding, resulting in widespread fear and concern among the population. According to political, social, and public circles in the area, cases of malaria, typhoid, and various allergic diseases are rapidly rising.
Local hospitals are reportedly overwhelmed with patients suffering from high fever, body pain, and severe weakness, with a large number of residents seeking urgent medical treatment. Citizens say they are unable to sleep at night due to constant mosquito attacks, describing the situation as unbearable.
Residents have urged the Deputy Commissioner of Kachhi and the Commissioner of Nasirabad Division to take immediate notice of the situation and launch emergency fumigation campaigns across the district. They also called for urgent drainage improvements to remove stagnant water and prevent further mosquito breeding.
Health experts have warned that if timely and effective measures are not taken, the situation could escalate into a major public health disaster that may become increasingly difficult to control.
