Rain and Snow Expected in Balochistan From December 13–16; PMD Warns of Landslides in Mountainous Areas

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — The **Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)** has forecast **light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, snowfall in hilly regions, and dense fog** across various districts of Balochistan from **December 13 to 16**, following the entry of a weak western weather system late on December 12.

According to the PMD, **Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Sherani, Chaman, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Killa Saifullah, and Noshki** are expected to experience **partly to fully cloudy weather** with chances of **light rain or snowfall** on December 14 and 15.

The department has warned that **dense fog** may blanket central and southern Balochistan, reducing visibility on highways and inter-district routes and potentially disrupting traffic.

Authorities have also issued an alert for **possible landslides** in mountainous and elevated regions during rainfall, urging tourists and travelers to exercise caution due to **slippery roads and low visibility**.

The PMD further stated that **daytime temperatures are likely to drop significantly** in northern and central Balochistan. Farmers have been advised to plan agricultural activities in line with the latest weather updates.

According to the department, another **stronger western system** may affect Balochistan as well as the western and upper parts of the country starting **December 19**.
