Protests Announced in Quetta Against Inflation, Gas and Electricity Shortages

Quetta: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party has announced a series of protests in Quetta against rising inflation, gas shortages, and prolonged electricity load-shedding.
According to details, the decision was made during a meeting of the party’s district executive body held under the chairmanship of provincial president Nasrullah Khan Ziaray. The meeting reviewed the overall organizational situation, public grievances, and preparations for upcoming protest activities.
The party announced that a major protest demonstration will be held on April 17 at 4:00 PM against the soaring prices of petroleum products, severe gas shortages, low gas pressure, and unannounced power outages. Party leaders expressed concern that poor governance and weak planning have left citizens struggling to access basic utilities.
Speakers said that the ongoing inflation has made life extremely difficult for the common man, while middle- and low-income groups are under severe financial pressure due to rising costs and lack of essential services.
In addition, the party also finalized preparations for a separate rally scheduled for April 19, organized in collaboration with the Pashtunkhwa Students Organization as part of its school enrollment campaign.
The campaign aims to promote education and encourage greater school admissions among children across the region. Party workers and student activists will organize processions from various areas and participate in the central demonstration.
The meeting resolved that all party units in Quetta will actively mobilize workers and engage with the public to ensure strong participation in both events. Leaders emphasized the importance of public awareness and collective action to highlight citizens’ rights.
Party representatives stated that these demonstrations are part of a broader struggle for public rights, aimed at drawing attention to worsening economic conditions and governance failures.
They further reaffirmed that the party will continue to raise its voice against inflation, unemployment, and lack of basic facilities, standing with the public in their struggle for rights and justice.
