FIA Foils Attempt to Illegally Cross into Iran via Sea in Jiwani, Arrests Nine Suspects

Gwadar: The **Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)** has thwarted an attempt to **illegally travel to Iran via sea** and arrested **nine individuals** during an operation in **Jiwani**, officials confirmed on Friday.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the **FIA Composite Circle Gwadar** conducted the raid on a tip-off. The arrested individuals belong to different districts of Punjab — **six from Mandi Bahauddin, two from Gujranwala, and one from Sheikhupura**.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects intended to **illegally enter Iran** and then proceed to **other countries** through unlawful routes.

The FIA has registered a case against the detainees and **launched further investigation** into the human smuggling network involved.
