Pakistan Offers Continuous Mediation Between Iran and the United States Until End of Conflict

Islamabad: Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to regional peace, stating that it is ready to continue hosting negotiations between the United States and Iran until the ongoing conflict is fully resolved.
According to a senior Pakistani official speaking to Qatar’s broadcaster Al Jazeera, Islamabad is prepared to facilitate multiple rounds of talks aimed at achieving a sustainable peace in the Middle East.
The official said diplomatic engagement with all relevant parties is ongoing to help bring an end to hostilities and create a dignified exit path from the conflict for both sides.
Meanwhile, key regional countries including Qatar and Saudi Arabia have also emphasized the need to transform the fragile ceasefire into lasting peace.
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, during which they discussed the regional security situation.
According to Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, both leaders agreed on the importance of strengthening the current ceasefire between the United States and Iran to ensure long-term regional stability. They also stressed the need for coordinated efforts to reduce tensions and move toward a comprehensive diplomatic settlement.
Analysts believe that while both Washington and Tehran are seeking an end to the conflict, finding an acceptable exit strategy remains a major challenge.
Professor Mohammed Al-Masri of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies told Al Jazeera that both sides are trying to end the war without appearing weakened. He said the conflict has been extremely costly for both parties and for the wider world.
He added that Iran currently appears to be in a relatively stronger position compared to the early stages of the conflict, but both sides ultimately want to end hostilities.
Referring to the United States, he noted that President Donald Trump also needs a dignified exit from the war, as it has become politically damaging and economically burdensome.
The professor concluded that the main obstacle in negotiations is that both the US and Iran want to claim victory while simultaneously ending the war, making a final agreement difficult to achieve.
