Burnt Body in Karachi Identified as Missing Young Man, Murder Probe Launched

Karachi: Police have identified a charred body found near the Northern Bypass in the Sohrab Rindh Goth area as a 29-year-old man who had gone missing two days earlier. Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation into the suspected murder.

According to police, the victim—identified as Faizan Satti, also known as Faizi—was a resident of Saeedabad, a father of one daughter, and worked as a clerk at a goods transport labor square in the SITE area.

The body, believed to be one to two days old, was discovered on Thursday within the jurisdiction of Mochko Police Station. Due to severe burns, the body was initially unrecognizable. Identification was later confirmed by the victim’s family at Civil Hospital.

The victim’s father told police that his son had left home on April 8 at around 8:30 PM to drop his wife at her parents’ house in Gulshan Ghazi. However, he never returned home. Multiple attempts to contact him failed as all his phone numbers were switched off.

While searching for his son, the father visited Saeedabad Police Station and was informed about an unidentified body recovered in the Mochko area. He later reached Civil Hospital, where he identified the body as his son.

Station House Officer Faisal Latif stated that initial findings suggest the victim may have been abducted and murdered, after which the suspects burned the body to conceal his identity.

Police believe the incident may be linked to personal enmity, but further investigation is underway. A case has been registered against unknown suspects on the complaint of the victim’s father, and authorities are examining multiple angles to trace those responsible.
