Pakistan’s Global Role Praised Amid Current Situation: KP CM Sohail Afridi

Islamabad/Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that Pakistan’s role in the current global situation is commendable and is being widely appreciated internationally.
Speaking at a press conference in Peshawar, Afridi stated that Imran Khan had long advocated for Pakistan to play a proactive role in promoting peace since 2002, adding that the world is now recognizing and appreciating that policy. He emphasized that the country belongs to all citizens, not just any single political party.
The chief minister also expressed optimism about potential progress in talks related to Afghanistan, stating that meaningful outcomes are expected. He reiterated that individuals harming Pakistan should be expelled and that Afghan refugees would be repatriated with dignity under a national policy.
Afridi criticized what he described as ongoing negative propaganda against his government, urging constructive criticism instead. He also raised concerns about the medical treatment of Imran Khan, saying it is his right to receive care at a facility chosen by his family and in their presence.
He further revealed that he had received a message from Imran Khan, stressing the need for political space for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), adding that those unwilling to follow party decisions are free to leave.
Afridi also announced that the provincial cabinet would soon be expanded, while asserting that government departments are continuing to perform effectively. He pledged to ensure civilian supremacy in the Malakand Division.
