Canada Acknowledges Pakistan’s Role, Agrees to Maintain Close Contact on Middle East Ceasefire

Ottawa: Anita Anand has acknowledged Pakistan’s diplomatic role in promoting a ceasefire in the Middle East and agreed to maintain close coordination to support ongoing peace efforts.
In a statement shared on social media, Anand said she had spoken multiple times in recent days with Ishaq Dar, during which they discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East in detail. She noted that Dar informed her of further negotiations expected later this week.

The Canadian foreign minister praised Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement, particularly its role in helping facilitate the recent two-week ceasefire. She added that Canada stands ready to support the negotiation process and urged all parties to uphold the ceasefire and consider extending it to Lebanon.
According to the statement, both leaders agreed to remain in close contact throughout the negotiation process to advance efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region.
