Islamabad: Pakistani celebrities have welcomed the recent ceasefire between Iran and United States, expressing relief and optimism while praising Pakistan’s role in promoting global peace.
The conflict between Iran and the United States over the past few weeks had raised serious concerns across the region and beyond, with fears of a wider global confrontation. Reports of casualties and attacks on senior Iranian leadership had further intensified the situation.
However, the recent ceasefire agreement between the two countries has brought a sense of calm, with diplomatic sources indicating that Pakistan played a constructive role in facilitating dialogue and reducing tensions.
This positive development has been widely appreciated both domestically and internationally. Members of Pakistan’s entertainment industry also shared their reactions, highlighting the importance of peace and diplomacy.
Renowned anchor and journalist Waseem Badami thanked God and stated that Pakistan had achieved success not only on the defense front but also diplomatically, calling it a “memorable day.”
Actor Tauseeq Haider described the ceasefire as a significant moment for peace-loving people, adding that the world is moving away from conflict toward stability, with Pakistan playing a guiding role.
Singer and actor Farhan Saeed termed the ceasefire a major diplomatic success and appreciated Pakistan’s contribution on the global stage.
Meanwhile, television host and doctor Shaista Lodhi also welcomed the development and praised the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir for their role in achieving the breakthrough.
Actor Bilal Qureshi took to social media with a viral remark, writing: “Political differences aside, today it’s not Shehbaz Sharif but ‘Shabash Sharif!’”
Celebrities emphasized that if the conflict had continued, its consequences could have spread globally. They expressed hope that the ceasefire would pave the way for long-term peace and stability in the region and beyond.
