“Gen Z Can’t Compete With Me,” Says Meera, Throwing Down Challenge to Young Actors

LAHORE: Veteran Pakistani actress Meera has challenged younger performers, saying that members of Generation Z are not yet capable of competing with experienced stars of the film industry.

Speaking during a podcast interview, Meera reflected on her film career, memorable projects, and decades of experience in the entertainment industry.

The actress recalled working with Babar Ali in one of her well-known films, describing the experience as enjoyable and memorable, with many interesting moments taking place during filming.

She also spoke about her long association with Pakistani cinema and highlighted her work with Humayun Saeed in the film Inteha, calling it a significant milestone in her career.

Addressing young actors directly, Meera said that Gen Z performers could not compete with her at this stage. She argued that emerging artists should focus on further developing their acting skills and professional abilities before comparing themselves with senior actors.

The actress encouraged younger performers to watch classic films and learn from the work of previous generations. She suggested that aspiring actors study iconic productions and then demonstrate that they can achieve a similar standard of performance.

Meera further stated that if young artists are confident in their talent, they should be willing to compete with established stars such as herself and Shaan Shahid.

Her remarks have sparked debate on social media, with some users supporting her emphasis on experience and legacy, while others argued that younger actors are bringing fresh ideas and opportunities to the industry through digital platforms, streaming services, and social media.
