Pakistan’s Seafood Exports Rise 38% in Two Years

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan has recorded a historic increase in seafood exports, marking significant progress in the country’s blue economy.

According to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Pakistani seafood exports have increased by 38 percent over the past two years, rising from $406 million in fiscal year 2023-24 to $568 million in 2025-26.

The ministry said Pakistani seafood is reaching international markets, including China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

It added that Pakistani seafood exports are also regaining confidence in European markets following the European Union’s 2007 ban.

The ministry described the growth as an important development for Pakistan’s blue economy and a positive sign for the expansion of the country’s seafood export sector.
