PTI Leaders Reject Claims That Qasim Khan Asked for Withdrawal of GSP+ Status

Islamabad: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser has clarified that Qasim Khan, son of PTI founder Imran Khan, never called for Pakistan’s GSP+ status to be revoked. He strongly condemned misleading propaganda circulated by federal ministers and certain media outlets regarding Qasim Khan.
Asad Qaiser emphasized that Qasim Khan’s statements have focused solely on highlighting lawlessness, political victimization, and severe human rights violations in Pakistan, including the denial of justice to Imran Khan and other detainees. He added that the country’s judiciary is effectively paralyzed, justice is lacking, and parliament is largely ineffective.
“All institutions seem intent on cornering Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf,” Qaiser said, “yet Pakistan is our country, and we have always worked for its dignity, prosperity, and development. PTI remains the true symbol of the federation, enjoying widespread support across the nation, and we will continue our struggle for Pakistan’s progress.”
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bukhari, criticized a live-streamed PTI event on social media, calling it equivalent to “another May 9,” alleging that its purpose was to undermine Pakistan’s GSP+ status. She claimed that the event involved Qasim Khan and foreign national Zulfi Bukhari, and that even leaders of the banned BLA’s sub-organization, BMM, were reportedly involved, allegedly coordinating with external lobbying groups to damage Pakistan’s economy.
