Russia Strongly Denies Reports of Supplying Drones to Iran, Calls Claims ‘White Lies’

Moscow: Russia has sharply rejected claims by international media, particularly the British newspaper Financial Times, that it is close to delivering drones to Iran. Kremlin officials have described such reports as fabricated and insisted that no military assistance has been provided to Tehran amid recent regional tensions.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told AFP on Thursday that numerous false narratives are being spread about Russia-Iran defense ties and urged the global community to focus on facts rather than propaganda.
The Financial Times, citing Western intelligence sources, claimed that Moscow was set to deliver a significant shipment of drones to Iran by the end of March 2026. Meanwhile, the Washington Post reported that Russia had allegedly shared sensitive coordinates and locations of US military aircraft and assets in the region with Tehran.
Russia firmly denied these allegations, stating that while it maintains close relations with Iran and ongoing diplomatic discussions continue, no new military aid or sensitive intelligence has been provided since the onset of US and Israeli attacks in February.
The Kremlin emphasized that the reports constitute a clear case of Western media propaganda and reiterated its commitment to transparency regarding defense cooperation with allies.
