Shir Afzal Murot Criticizes Leadership for Hypocrisy, Urges Setting an Example First

London:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly, Shir Afzal Murot, has strongly criticized the party leadership for calling others to join political movements while failing to set an example themselves. He stated, “You invite others’ children to join, but first, you should set an example. Send your own children to England and then ask others to come and lead the movement for Khan. The leadership has become highly questionable.”
In a media interaction, Murot expressed frustration, particularly with the leadership’s stance towards the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pashtuns. He said, “You ask others to join, but before that, set the example yourselves. After May 9th, your own children should have been on the field. If I were to send my children to England and tell others to lead the movement for Khan, it makes no sense.”
Murot also made it clear that he still believes the leadership should take the initiative and launch the movement themselves. He pointed out that the leadership has been discredited, especially by the actions of Aliema Khan, leading to the tarnishing of the party’s image on social media. According to him, the only person who remains free of doubts and suspicion is himself, as he holds true to his principles and leadership qualities.
Addressing the issues with Aliema Khan, Murot emphasized, “I have no personal conflict with her. The issue is with her behavior—she tends to be domineering and pressures others. However, we are not the kind of people to succumb to any pressure.”
