Trump Signals Shift on Iran Talks, Says No Guarantee on Deal Despite Progress

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated a shift in stance regarding negotiations with Iran, confirming that discussions are underway on 15 key points but cautioning that he cannot guarantee a final agreement.
Speaking to the media, Trump revealed that talks with Iran include conditions such as Tehran handing over enriched uranium to the United States and the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
He claimed that consensus has been reached on several major issues and mentioned that he had spoken to an “important and respected” Iranian figure, whose identity he declined to disclose.
Despite expressing optimism, Trump stated that there is no certainty of a deal, though further progress is expected if negotiations continue in a positive direction. He reiterated his commitment to reaching an agreement with Iran.
Trump also remarked that he does not want Iran’s potential future supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, to be targeted.
Highlighting military tensions, Trump claimed that without the threat of a B-52 Stratofortress strike, Iran could have developed nuclear weapons within weeks. He further described the ongoing situation in Tehran as something that “could be termed regime change.”
