Iran Claims $2 Million Collected in Fees from Ships Passing Through Strait of Hormuz

Tehran: Iran has claimed that it has collected a total of $2 million in fees from vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, signaling its control over the critical maritime route.

According to Iranian lawmaker Alauddin, the country has established a new level of sovereignty over the strategic waterway after 47 years. He further stated that the passage is nearly restricted for most oil tankers, emphasizing Iran’s dominant position in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

A military spokesperson also asserted that there is no need to deploy naval mines in the area, as Iran maintains full monitoring and security control over the route.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most vital oil transit chokepoints, and any developments in the region are closely watched due to their potential impact on global energy markets.
