Opposition Meeting Chaired by Mahmood Khan Achakzai Discusses Possible Resignations from Assemblies

Islamabad — A meeting of the opposition’s parliamentary party was held under the chairmanship of Mahmood Khan Achakzai, head of the Tehreek Tahaffuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan, where a proposal to resign from the assemblies was discussed.

According to sources cited by Express News, several opposition leaders shared their views during the session. Latif Khosa urged open support for Iran, criticizing the current rulers and calling for a resolution in parliament opposing Israel.

Meanwhile, Sher Ali Arbab, a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, raised concerns about the legislative process. He said opposition members had gained little through parliamentary committees and were often unable to present their stance.

Arbab suggested that instead of resigning only from committees, the opposition should consider resigning from the assemblies altogether. He noted that the opposition previously held influence in the Public Accounts Committee, where it could assert its position effectively.

Sources added that all opposition members were being given the opportunity to express their opinions, and a joint decision will be taken after reviewing the views of all participants.
