New York:At a United Nations Security Council open debate, **Pakistan’s UN Counsellor Saima Saleem** strongly criticized India, urging it to **end its state-sponsored terrorism and begin meaningful dialogue** for peace and regional stability.

Responding firmly to India’s earlier statement, Saleem accused New Delhi of once again relying on **misinformation, deflection, and denial**, stating, *“India’s ambiguous rhetoric cannot hide the truth.”*

Saima Saleem highlighted **India’s ongoing human rights violations** in **occupied Jammu and Kashmir**, including the **indiscriminate killing and injuring of civilians**, and **unprovoked cross-border attacks targeting innocent Pakistani civilians**.

Referring to **India’s alleged global terror network**, she cited incidents such as the **assassination of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada** and the **foiled plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in the U.S.**, saying these were examples of India’s **international involvement in terrorism and targeted killings**.

Addressing the **Pahalgam incident**, Saleem criticized India’s refusal to allow **independent and impartial investigations**, stating, *“If India had nothing to hide, it should have welcomed an unbiased inquiry.”*

She also condemned **India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty**, accusing it of using **water as a weapon** against Pakistan. “Water is life, not a tool of war,” she declared, emphasizing the vital importance of river flows for **Pakistan’s 240 million people**.

Saleem further revealed that between **May 6 and May 10**, India carried out **unprovoked aggression**, killing **40 civilians**, including **7 women and 15 children**, and injuring **121 people**, during cross-border shelling.

Drawing attention to **recent terror incidents in Pakistan**, Saleem claimed that India funds and supports militant groups like **TTP, BLA, and the Majeed Brigade**, which are responsible for deadly attacks on civilians, including the **May 21 attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan**, which resulted in the deaths of several children.

Concluding her statement, Saima Saleem urged India to uphold **international law, the UN Charter, bilateral agreements**, and to resolve the **Jammu and Kashmir dispute** peacefully in accordance with **UN Security Council resolutions** and the **aspirations of the Kashmiri people**.
