JUI Leaders Urge Authorities to Stop Harassing Citizens in the Name of Afghan Refugees

Quetta: Leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam in Balochistan have expressed serious concern over the law and order situation in Quetta, urging authorities to stop harassing citizens and traders under the pretext of action against Afghan refugees.

Provincial and district leaders of the party, including Maulana Abdul Rehman Rafiq and Haji Ainullah Shams, alleged that the administration and police were troubling ordinary citizens and shopkeepers without justification. They claimed that instead of taking action against criminals, some police officials were engaged in harassment and bribery, allowing crime to increase across the city.

The leaders said rising incidents of street crime, robbery, and murder had created a strong sense of insecurity among the public. They criticized the police for shifting the blame onto citizens rather than fulfilling their professional responsibilities.

They further demanded that authorities stop harassing traders and adopt an effective strategy to restore peace and order in the city. The leaders urged law enforcement agencies to focus on apprehending criminals and ensuring the safety of residents.
