JI Balochistan Leader Vows Continued Struggle for Missing Persons and Rights of the Province

QUETTA:Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Balochistan chief and MPA Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman Baloch has said that his party will continue its struggle for the recovery of missing persons, release of political prisoners, and against the closure of borders. He emphasized that the solution to Balochistan’s problems lies in honest leadership that is sincere to the people.

Speaking at various gatherings and during meetings with delegations in Gwadar, Rehman said he is committed to fulfilling promises made to voters and is ready for accountability at all times. “My doors and those of Jamaat-e-Islami are always open for every citizen,” he said, holding Islamabad’s powerful elites and rulers responsible for the plight of the province.

He lamented that despite being rich in resources, Balochistan lacks sincere and honest elected representatives. Highlighting key issues, he said enforced disappearances, excessive use of force, military operations, mutilated bodies instead of recovery of missing persons, closure of legal cross-border trade, frequent highway blockades, suspension of train services, and lack of safe travel have deepened public suffering. “Instead of providing jobs, people are being deprived of livelihoods, while nepotism, bribery, and favoritism have replaced merit. Traders, students, youth — all are distressed,” he added.

Rehman criticized the federal government for ignoring Baloch families protesting in Islamabad for the recovery of their loved ones. “The state holds dialogues and trade with arch-rival India, but refuses even legal negotiations with the mothers and sisters of Balochistan sitting in protest camps,” he remarked, calling it injustice and oppression.

He further said that genuine political workers and leaders are being pushed toward the mountains, where they are instantly labeled as traitors, terrorists, or anti-state. “Jamaat-e-Islami has already staged a long march from Quetta to Islamabad for Balochistan’s rights, recovery of missing persons, reopening of borders, end to the trailer mafia, and to resist the excesses of security forces while demanding rightful benefits from CPEC.”

Warning the government, he said if constitutional and democratic rights are not recognized and the promises made to long march participants are not fulfilled, JI will once again launch protests and a fresh long march.
