National Party Criticizes Reko Diq Project Over Broken Local Employment Promises, Warns of Protests

**Nokundi:** The National Party Chagai has sharply criticized the administration of the Reko Diq Project (RDMC) for failing to fulfill its promise of local employment and warned of widespread protests in the Rakhshan Division if non-local hiring continues.
In a press release, the party stated that the establishment of the Skills Foundation was intended to provide employment opportunities to local youth. However, hundreds of trained young people remain unemployed and frustrated. While the administration has repeatedly claimed that local youth from Chagai would be trained and employed, contractors are reportedly hiring non-local staff on a daily basis, leaving local youth with little opportunity.
The National Party expressed full solidarity with the affected youth and vowed to raise their voice at every level against this injustice. The statement also criticized the project’s “P1 to P4” employment policy, calling it mere lip service, as actual practices on the ground contradict the official claims.
The party further alleged that the administration selectively presents only its direct employees’ data, claiming 70% local employment, while hiding the data of non-local workers hired through contractors.
The National Party demanded that graduates of the Skills Foundation be given immediate priority for employment and that illegal hiring from outside the province be stopped. It warned that if the policy is not fully implemented, the party, in coordination with other political groups, will organize protests across the entire Rakhshan Division, holding the administration fully responsible for any consequences.
