Heavy Rainfall Continues Across Balochistan, PDMA Issues 48-Hour High Alert

Quetta (Qudrat Daily) – Intermittent rainfall has continued over the past 24 hours in various districts of Balochistan, including Kachhi, Bolan, and Quetta, bringing pleasant weather but causing flooding in low-lying areas, creating difficulties for residents.

In Quetta city and surrounding areas, a slight drop in temperature was recorded after the rainfall, while flash floods from hilly areas have caused rivers and streams to swell. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and the Meteorological Department have warned that the rainfall is expected to continue for the next 48 hours, posing a risk to populations living near riverbanks and streams.

The Deputy Commissioner of Quetta has ordered all relevant departments and municipal corporation staff to remain on high alert to ensure timely drainage and emergency response operations. Authorities have advised tourists and local residents to avoid unnecessary travel near flood-prone rivers and hilly areas to prevent accidents.

Power outages have also affected several areas due to the heavy rains, and K-Electric teams are working to restore electricity supply.
