Six European Countries Commend Pakistan, Agree to Provide Jobs Amid Anti-Human Smuggling Efforts

Warsaw, Poland:** Following Italy, five additional European countries have agreed to offer employment opportunities to Pakistani citizens while lauding Pakistan’s efforts to curb human smuggling, according to officials.
A conference of interior ministers from six countries on illegal immigration was held in Warsaw, where Federal Interior Minister **Mohsin Naqvi** led the Pakistani delegation. The meeting included:

* Iiger Taro – Estonia
* Rihards Kozlovskis – Latvia
* Heikki Timonen – Finland
* Gintaras Ilgzdraivicius – Lithuania
All six ministers praised Pakistan’s measures against human smuggling and illegal migration.
According to the conference communiqué, the five European nations agreed to provide official job opportunities for Pakistanis and develop a coordinated roadmap to discourage illegal migration while promoting legal immigration. Detailed consultations were also held on internal security, counter-terrorism, anti-narcotics, border security, and counter-terrorism cooperation.
Minister Naqvi briefed attendees on the current Pak-Afghan border situation, noting that **22 terrorist organizations are currently operating in Afghanistan**. He emphasized that Pakistan acts as a barrier between terrorists and the international community. Highlighting the results of Pakistan’s crackdown on human smuggling mafias, he said illegal migration from Pakistan to Europe has decreased by **47 percent**. He concluded that through mutual cooperation, European countries and Pakistan can effectively address this major challenge.
